I get my hair done later on, and hope to get “lunch” beforehand.
I’m afraid that I am going to fall out of the habit of logging in here to blog, and what makes it worse is that my site fell out of google, and so it seems useless to write if nobody can hear me. Kind of like the ghost of a dead person that nobody knows is there.
I took a really-fun day-trip last week up to a very cool, somewhat large, new-age metaphysical shop. It was very cool. I got some things. Took some photos. I always take photos. I’ve been putting my life online since 1996 or so, and I want to consolidate all my various past blogs into one site as a sort of “life-stream”. I’m working on that.
I was talking to a friend of mine via email and IM regarding the Nokia N95-3 and the Nokia N95-4. I wasn’t sure what the difference was. Here is what I found so far:
from my email:
I found some info on the n95-3 vs. the n95-4…
According to wikipedia:
“…the upgraded N95 8GB (N95-2), the N95-3, which adds 3G support for North America, and the N95-4 which is an America-targeted version of the N95-2.”
“…on January 7, 2008, Nokia announced the N95-4, which is the inevitable 8Gb version of the N95-3. ”
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki
I see some contradiciton there. Huh.
If you open these two pages side by side you can compare:
http://wirelessimports.com
http://wirelessimports.com
“…it seems the mythical N95 8GB with HSDPA 850 / 1900 is now in stock.”

My brain hurts now.
It is hot out today. We are going to grill out steaks by the pool. M is playing video games right now who knows when we’ll actually get the grill going.
All I want in the world right now is a Nokia N95-3… and now it’s coming out in PINK!

Does anyone use FlipOut or FlipPad by TeleFlip? Is it safe to use (do they send any kind of spam to emails or cell phones)? I am thinking of trying it out but don’t want to subject my friends to spam.

kw: flipout, flippad, teleflip

You know… lately I can’t watch the news, or even look at digg (one of my favorite sites). Negative news depresses me, and that’s all it seems to be, nobody reports happy shit. Global warming, bad economy, blah blah blah. It makes me want to not get out of bed. When I overheard people in public talking about how bad the economy is (while they pick away at their sushi [as I am]) I get REALLY depressed. I’ve been dirt poor, I’ve been where we had no food (as a kid). I don’t EVER want to go through that again. I can’t stand the though. I need to just not read news stories and find a way to tune out the gossipers in restaurants, stores, etc.
Last night I uplaoded THREE YEARS of my life; my old TextAmerica moblog backup. Want to take a peek?
http://flickr.com/photos/laserone/2435333091/

I am still tweaking this blog as far as links to the archives, etc. But sooner than later, there will links that go back to my first “web page” I made back in 1996.
This was my best blog, laserblog.com. I moved away from it because I was afraid I was getting too personal and then people from “real life” found it. I don’t mind if strangers read my dairy, because they don’t know who I am. So I had started another blog… then another. But now I’m back here because this was my favorite blog and time has passed and I miss it. Plus, I have all the archives plus archives from it’s subsequent incarnation all imported. This is sort-of a history tool for me if nothing else. I can go back and see when certain things happened, etc. But I do intend to make this my main blog, again. I’ll just password-protect “sensitive” posts. Welcome back.
Sitting alone in a restaurant crying?
Yup.
Was that me yesterday?
Yup.
I guess I am Lame.
Lately I’ve noticed a trend w/ many people in interviews and podcasts (not the hosts usually, but the guests for the most part) [not Leo or Amber]. Lately a lot of people tend to answer questions by starting with the word “SO…“. It’s really getting annoying. It’s constant lately.
“How did you get into such-and-such?”
“So… what we did was…”
I hear this constantly. Starting w/ “So…” is like saying “Since you so rudely interrupted me before, I’ll finish my sentance now.” Hardly a way to answer a question. Anyway, it’s the guests, not the hosts, and I just wonder if it’s just me who’s noticing this.
I’m surfing ebay. Man, I can find almost anything. Since we lost everything we owned when I was 13, I often think about certain things I lost. I found this tonight, holy cow, FLASHBACKS from being like 5 years old:

Wow, just WOW. I’ve also over the years replaced books I had as a kid, using AbeBooks.com to get cheap used copies.
Who’s the cutest guy in the whole wide world!?!???

Still drawing a lot. Listening to Toronto’s Mix 99.9 via the net. I like their music selection a lot.
OH AND “Grace Kelly” by Mika is the best freakin’ song!
Don’t blink.
M and I were walking the dogs tonight and noticed a lot of people milling around two streets over, and cop cars. We talked to a neighbor and it turns out a man who was in his early 40′s died, and they think he took his own life. I had someone close to me who did that, you never see it coming. It’s sad. Truth is we may never know how he really died.
Don’t get so caught up in work that one day you realize you have no memories. One day you may be hit by a bus, or one day your better half may be hit by a bus and then you’ll be alone, wondering why you didn’t say “I love you” more or spend more time taking walks together. Sad. And just tonight I was at dinner and found myself w/ tears running down my face because a song that was playing in the restaurant was one that “the band” used to play when my brother and I would drive down to the beach to watch them play. Now he’s dead, in his 40′s, of cancer. Life is short. Don’t blink.
If you ever think things are bad, think of her: www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,21332543-2,00.html
Dude, I am constantly saying to M., “Can we please get out of this retirement hell and move to Toronto and live in the city in a flat above a coffee shop on Queen!?!?“. Well, Sam at Daily Dose of Imagery took a photo of JUST such a place! Do check it out.

As I said in a recent post, I’ve been drawing a lot lately, and really enjoying it. Being a techie, of course I integrate technology w/ art. I draw in my moleskine sketch book and then I scan or take pix of my sketches and then send them to flickr and also I poste them on a new Art Blog I created. I go online and look at other people’s drawings for inspiration, and participate in art message boards. I recently ordered and recieved a USB Drawing Tablet (a Wacom Graphire 6×8) and downloaded a fantastic free program called ArtRage2 (which is only $20 for the full version). Using that w/ the wacom tablet is AWESOME. And then today I had yet another idea. Install ArtRage2 on my teeny tiny laptop (Fujitsu P1510) because it’s a TABLET LAPTOP so it would be like virtual painting!! Anyway, I am having so much fun w/ this.

EDITED TO ADD: Oh, and if you LOVE art and tech and have more money than I do, CHECK THIS OUT:

A little something about you, the author. Nothing lengthy, just an overview.
