I am disgusted by this: “Gynecological exams are changing as new students begin to question old practices. Medical students often perform pelvic exams when the patient is under anesthesia, not only without consent, but without informing them.” .:via metafilter:.

Can you tell I’m better? (no longer sick) POST POST POST POST POST POST POST….
Ok, I know this is “old’, but I was reminded of this recently. I saw something about it on tv a while ago. The whole thing just pissess me off.
I KNOW she’s young. But when *I* was young, I knew the music of, and especially knew how to pronounce, most artists names! Espcecially the BIG ones. And I’m not even a musician.
I think as an artist, you have a responsibility to learn about others and their artwork. I think her ignorance is inexcuseable.
This whole thing really just got under my skin.
I love Strong Bad Emails. (click on “toons”)
I can’t find a promt-blog for Wednesday (that ins’t now a 404), so I’m going to do a belated Monday Mission:
I’m not sure. Maybe unpacking clothes in the back of a clothing store and hanging them and steaming them. I remember looking out that back door at the storm clouds and wishing and praying a tornado would come by and destory the place.
Sad! I can’t believe it. The Topics Blog is coming to an end.
If I was more brazen, or had a more stealth camera, I would have taken these pictures today:
I’m tired.
I want sushi.
I guess I’ll go to bed, it’s 1:42 am.
My frickin’ arm hurts. I just used one of those home blood-pressure monitors on my arm. I inflated it as far as it said to, and my arm STILL hurts. Damn thing is probably going to cause me blood clots or something. Owwww…
Dammit. After my last post I hit “new entry” instead of “save”. I’m overtired.
Here are more “darn cat pictures”. These were taken mainly by SP w/the Canon Digital Elph.
.:PHOTOS:..
No, I don’t want this to become a “cat blog” or a “blog dedicated mostly to one’s cat”. But, I was overdue to take current pix of the new cat, as she was not in very good shape when we first got her from the pound, and I like to reference all new photos I upload.
F’kn moron. Overheard on CNN: (paraphrased) “I hear designers say that they do not watch the news, that they are too busy designing to watch the news. I think that is IRRESPONSIBLE. I think fashion has a responsibility to reflect what is going on in society.”
GET A F*CKING LIFE, BITCH! Gawd!
I went thru my recent Canon D60 pix and put them online.
I took, of course, more flower pictures. I’m almost sick of flower pictures. But there are alot of nice flowering trees in bloom right now around here. Also, I can’t help taking pictures of colorful wildlife. I need to step back and think about what else I can take pictures of. .:PHOTOS:.
In another folder I have photos of a Woodstork that I saw yesterday. Woodstorks aren’t that pretty to look at except when they are in flight. One of the pictures he has a fish in his mouth, but when the photo was reduced for the web, it became impossible to see. .:PHOTOS:.
The last folder was put online mainly for a few folks who just love our new kitty Crystal (and other cat lovers). .:PHOTOS:.
I just love my D60. If the house were on fire, that’d be one of those things I grab (besides the obvious family, pets, and family photos).
I’m trying to go thru my recent Canon D60 shots, but Bertha (my laptop, “big bertha”) keeps blue-screening on me whenever I load Photoshop 7. I could re-boot but I’m in the middle of several things and if I shut down, I’m goin’ to lunch! I got some more flower shots… and some GREAT shots of a Woodstork in flight. I’ll get to it later. Crap, I have to get moving!
Stop me before I become obsessive. Stop me before I become a professional camera-collector. Now I want a Lomo. I need to do some thinking. I’ve pretty-much abandoned film. (Except I do love the old Canon AE-1 that SP uses.) If I got a Lomo I’d have to get re-used to using film, always having enough film, being more careful of which shots I took, dropping the film off, picking it up, paying for all that, etc. But the images the Lomo creates really are unique. Think-a-think-a-think…

I did take more pix w/ my little $60 digital Aiptek Mini Pencam… .:PHOTOS:.
. I just love this little toy cam. I just wish the focusing was better. I have to take several shots of one thing and then later on just save the one that’s in focus. But, for $60, you can’t beat it.
Not that anybody ever reads this blog, but “sorry I’ve been MIA“, I’ve been SICK AGAIN. This is about the sixth time I’ve been sick since early December. So, not only have I been spacy and tired, but I’ve had nothing to talk about except snot. I haven’t even felt much like surfing, or else I’d at least have links to post. I have taken some pix, but have been too sick/lazy/tired/run-down to download them and go thru them and put them online. I still have not even finished going thru the photos from the Festival Of India.
I’m reverting back to my health-food health-nut ways. I’m tired of being sick, and tired of being tired, and I need to eat healthier so I can ward off all these damned viruses and colds and infections that all the tourists bring down w/ them from up north and overseas.
Man, I’m sick AGAIN! I haven’t even been blogging much. That tells u have sick I’m feeling. Sick, weak, tired, run-down, miserable, sleeping. It sucks. I hope to go thru some photos tonight, and upload some of them.
Ok. I about had a techgasm at Best Buy today. There’s yet ANOTHER new Sony Clie out and I HAVE TO HAVE IT! It’s obscenely expensive though.
It’s the NZ90. It has a built-in camera like mine does, but this camera is 2 megapixels and has a flash! What can I sell on ebay, what can I sell……
Every week they do Unconcious Mutterings. Here’s mine:
I know I have a full-on blog-addiction going now. I DO find myself saying “would this event be blog-worthy?” … and: “oh, you’ve got to blog that!” … etc.
But then, I get out more because I’m into photography. That’s not pathetic. So is it pathetic to get out more (go to events) just so that I’ll have something to blog about? I don’t think so.
I once knew a lady whose father one day looked up from the newspaper and realized he had no memory. It wasn’t memory loss, perse’ (as I remember it), it was just that for years and years, all he did was get up, eat breakfast, go to the office, come home, eat dinner, read the paper, and go to bed. He had NO MEMORIES. He just snapped.
So, when somebody like my mom says “Oh god, I really don’t want to go to this baby shower” or whatever, I tell them that story. I mean, if you don’t get out and DO things, you have nothing to remember when you are old. Also, you have nothing to talk or think about NOW. And therefore, you have nothing to blog about, I guess you could say.
Because I am so into photography, I’ll drag my ass out on a hot and humid day to take pictures when I’d rather stay in and surf all day in my jammies in the air conditioning. So whether it’s photography or blogging, if your hobby gets you up and out, then I say, whoo hoo and good for you! =:D
I’ve been wanting to see “Bowling for Columbine“, but it’s not playing around here. I looked online and the only place in the state it is playing at all is four hours away. I hate the south. >:| I’ve looked many times since it came out and have never seen it in my town. If it came, it didn’t stay long enough for me to notice. I think it’ll be a movie to think and talk about. Oprah was a rerun today where she had Michael Moore on and talked about the movie. I really want to see it.
Wow, I still have not finished sorting through all the photos I took at the Festival Of India. Sunday was a Greek Festival we wanted to go to, but it was SO crowded that we said “screw it” once we failed to find a parking space. Then today I had a meeting w/ a client and then ran a ton of errands, then had to come home and work on my client’s website. So I haven’t had alot of spare time.
I got three Indian films (DVD) at the Indian Festival, plus a dvd of A. R. Rahman songs (“hits of a. r. rahman”). A. R. Rahman is THE BEST. I swear, his music is absolutely amazing. He is a songwriter (from India) and writes all (or mostly?) songs for Indian films. The DVD of songs was cool because it just showed the scene from the corresponding movie, kinda like videos, but not. I have not had time to watch any of the 3 movies I got on Saturday. Continued under “continue reading“….

Well, the Festival Of India was just great. We spent several hours there. The performances were great, the food was awesome. It was HOT though, I hate the south.
We had tandoori chicken, spicy potatoes, Firni (sweet rice dessert), rice, naan bread. We’re going to make Tandoori Chicken skewers for dinner tonight w/ curry Couscous. Should be good. It’s marinading as I speak.
I took about a million and a half pictures. It’ll take me a while to go thru them all and get them downloaded, then transferred, then sorted, then the best ones online.
Update: I took 353 pictures! Ah, the freedom of digital! Click, click away knowing that you don’t have to pay to develop the film. Oh yeah, forgot to mention, all photos were taken w/ the D60.
Update II: Ugh, I’m so tired. Too much sun and fresh air. SP had a nap, but I didn’t, and so in an unprecedented move, I’m thinking about bed before midnight on a Saturday night. Too many photos to sort through, crop, adjust, etc. Tired…
I just discovered something. The package my Pencam came in said Aiptek Mini Pencam. But then Pencam itself says Aiptek Mega Cam. I thought the Aiptek Mini and the Aiptek Mega were two different models. I’ve been referring to mine as the Mini Pencam, but now I’m not sure. The package said Aiptek Mini Pencam and then in little letters next to it it said “1.3 mega” (I assume for “megapixels”). Oh well, whatever.
I’m off to the Festival Of India!
