Mottled Heron, D60
I was out in the backyard yesterday taking photos for my “My Backyard” photoblog, and I saw this weird bird I’d never seen before. I often see little white Cattle Egrets, Little Blue Herons, Great Blue Herons, but this was the size and shape of a Little Blue Heron, but his colors were mottled grey and white. I don’t think I’ve ever seen this kind of bird before. I don’t know if it’s rare, or just immature, or just some bird I’d never seen before. I don’t even know for sure what kind of bird it is.
