Today was a good day

It’s 2:53am, not 1:53 am. I wonder how long the time’s been off. I have the time zone set right and I don’t see a thing for daylight savings time. Huh.

Today was a good day. I slept in a bit (as usual after having stayed up ’till almost 4am). Took care of “the farm” (2 cats, 2 dogs). Surfed.

Then I went to the mall… [click below to read more]

Then I went to the mall… (and played twit 8 on the ipod in the car on the way) to meet my friend, the one I’m starting that local website with. On my through Sears I stopped by to tell the salesman that the new washer and dryer he sold us “kicks ass” and now M and I fight over who gets to do the laundry. He laughed. I was serious though. :)

On the way through the store I found some great shirts on sale and grabbed some for M and I. (I love to wear men’s polo shirts, whatever.) While paying I discovered that my debit/Visa was missing. I called M and asked him to look up the Thai restaurant I’d had lunch at yesterday and text me the number. After we hung up I remembered that a few weeks ago when my car battery died, I called the cellular 411 and they not only gave me the number, but then texted it to me! I was also able to have it set it to “text by default” so from now on when I call the cellular 411 they tell me the # and text it to me. But I forgot all about that today.

Friend and I had a food-court lunch and I called the Thai place. They had my card. M hates that particular Thai place after some bad experiences involving a waiter in a Thai dress, “Thai Curry Puffs” that had HAIR in EVERY single one (M calls them “Thai Hairy Balls” now), and a bad rotting fish smell in the air. So I texted M and told him that they had my card and “I guess that’s where we’re going for dinner tonight, mmMMWWWUUUHHAAHHAAHHAA!!!!”

Friend and I then headed to my old-favorite coffee haunt which now is an even BETTER favorite coffee haunt w/ it’s new owner, new decor, and new FREE WIFI.

We went over our website, had “toffee coffee” and water and tried not to listen to the obnoxious *sshole who came in w/ a laptop to “camp” and alternatly boom loudly on his bluetooth headset (my bluetooth headset is better than his bluetooth headset, so th-b-b-b!) and suck face loudly with his bored-looking girlfriend.

After that I returned Friend to the our meeting place and went on the the Thai place. There we had an odor-free, hair-free, creepy-waiter-free dining experience. I was not allowed to order panang (my favorite) this time, but that’s a whole other story that had me laughing so hard yesterday that I had a horrible post-bronchitis gooselike coughing fit which left me unable to speak for half an hour. Mike heard me, it was awful. I got my debit/visa back, even though the waitress suggested that I just leave it there because I’m there so often.

Dinner was great and then I followed M home in a typical Florida afternoon horrible thunderstorm that looked black from a distance. Once in the storm it was white w/ zero visibility AND the traffic lights were out at the absolute worst instersections.

I’ve just realized that this “about my day” post is INSANELY long. This is what happens after midnight.

Anway, so we came home, got in our “lay around the house surfing and building mp3 players” clothing, and then our (very cool and very fun) neighbor calls and asks us to go w/ them for ice cream. [And this reminds me of another funny-ass story about what Mike said when I told him that I sent these neighbors to a Chinese Buffett that we'd never been to before. (goose-honk)]

So we went for ice cream, laughed w/ our neighbors, came home, I surfed, M finished building his MP3 player (it works it works it works!), and then I started reading “On Writing” by Stephen King. (Perhaps THAT’S why this about-my-day post is so damn long!)

I’m fighting an urge to keep babbling on about stuff that nobody cares about. Who cares that I read more than one book at a time, that I read like 4 at a time, that I have a whole stack of books I want to finish, that I wish humans didn’t have to sleep so that I could read more books. I need to get my ass to bed.
