Why is transferring an iPod from one computer to another such a bi tch?

THIS WEEK IN TECH #7 is out.
I use iPodder to check every half hour and yet it’s still sitting there saying “downloading” “0%”.

BUT I had great luck here:

… at FileFront.com they have a page for TWIT #7. There are several mirros there and the wait is about 2 minutes, and you click “continue”, then wait, and then keep an eye on the page and click “download” when it says it’s ready.

So far that seems to be the best place to get it. Check it out.

UPDATE: I’ll put a copy here as well, but it’s only temporary… I have to watch my bandwidth. But so far as my bandwidth is ok, I’ll leave it up. www.mentalbites.com/asecondblog/twit

Hi. I’m lonley. M had to go in to work last night at midnight and then had to work all day on ZERO sleep. He came home, we went for pizza, and he went to bed. Now here I am again, up late, alone.

I just hate being alone late at night. It’s creepy. Every noise I think is a prowler.

Nobody’s on IM.

I guess I could go to bed… but of course I’m not tired.

Even when M is up and over at the other end of the room surfing on his computer and we’re not talking, it’s still not as lonley as when he’s upstairs asleep and I’m up alone.

OMFFFFG I just bit my cheek so hard it CRUNCHED! And it’s bleeding. AND it’s in the same spot that I keep biting. I’m going to get cheek-cancer there if I keep doing this. I HAVE to get braces, geezus.

Oh my god my *ss is sore, I’ve been on this computer all day. This is what happens when I get excited (obsessive-compulsive) about a new pet project. I spend all my waking hours, with little sleep, tweaking, tweaking, tweaking.

I spent the whole day at home, after getting up early, because I was waiting for the couch delivery guys to come. They never did. *sigh*

So I spent the whole day on the computer tweaking my new project.

Let me just say that DRUPAL KICKS FREAKING ASS!!!

I am IN LOVE w/ Drupal!

It lets me have seperate blogs for each of the girls that are organizing this new website / pet project, yet with each new post, the post is not only posted to the individual user’s blog, but ALSO to the front page. Just like Leo and the gang have it set up at the twit site. I loved how they had seperate blogs that each posted to the front page. So I looked up what powered their site, and that’s how I found Drupal.

I don’t know php, I’m used to MT and html and the template system. So my hands are rather tied as far as customization goes, at least while M is not nearby. But I’m making do, and learning what I can.

It is quite simply, the most amazing new content-management system out there. AND, it’s open-source! FREE!

I need to get to bed. My butt is numb.

I have not used IRC in AGES.

That’s where M and I met.

It’s true.

But anyway, today… I was looking for a free java chat client for a website a friend and I have set up. I found one, but it uses some server network I never heard of and that server network is really slow.

So I thought, why don’t I try good ol’ DalNet which used to be our haunt?

I had to go find and install Mirc cuz I haven’t used it in so long. I had to pull the cobwebs off the commands in the back of my brain.

My old channel has long since been taken over, but apparently it got released and then taken over by yet someone else. No biggie, it’s just interesting that it still exists, in it’s own way.

I guess Dalnet is a bit slow, too. Now, unlike the old days, you have to register w/ an email address, and you can’t do much else (like register a room, etc.) until that’s verified, and the auto-confirmation has not been sent out yet. So I’m just sitting, waiting.

I’d like really good, but free of course, chat software for this new website my friend and I have started. So far I’m not a big fan of the free one I found, so I’m still looking. Got any recommendations for free chat programs for websites?

Do you still chat on irc? Let’s have some fun w/ irc…

I’m falling asleep sitting up. I only got 6 hours of sleep cuz I wasn’t tired last night as usual until like 3am, and then I had to get up cuz we are having our new couch set delivered today and I don’t know what time.

I’m tired, I’m waiting for the new TWIT episode, working on a new website, and wishing I was taking a nap.
