Lately I’ve noticed a trend w/ many people in interviews and podcasts (not the hosts usually, but the guests for the most part) [not Leo or Amber]. Lately a lot of people tend to answer questions by starting with the word “SO…“. It’s really getting annoying. It’s constant lately.
“How did you get into such-and-such?”
“So… what we did was…”
I hear this constantly. Starting w/ “So…” is like saying “Since you so rudely interrupted me before, I’ll finish my sentance now.” Hardly a way to answer a question. Anyway, it’s the guests, not the hosts, and I just wonder if it’s just me who’s noticing this.
I’m surfing ebay. Man, I can find almost anything. Since we lost everything we owned when I was 13, I often think about certain things I lost. I found this tonight, holy cow, FLASHBACKS from being like 5 years old:

Wow, just WOW. I’ve also over the years replaced books I had as a kid, using AbeBooks.com to get cheap used copies.
Who’s the cutest guy in the whole wide world!?!???

Still drawing a lot. Listening to Toronto’s Mix 99.9 via the net. I like their music selection a lot.
OH AND “Grace Kelly” by Mika is the best freakin’ song!
Don’t blink.
M and I were walking the dogs tonight and noticed a lot of people milling around two streets over, and cop cars. We talked to a neighbor and it turns out a man who was in his early 40′s died, and they think he took his own life. I had someone close to me who did that, you never see it coming. It’s sad. Truth is we may never know how he really died.
Don’t get so caught up in work that one day you realize you have no memories. One day you may be hit by a bus, or one day your better half may be hit by a bus and then you’ll be alone, wondering why you didn’t say “I love you” more or spend more time taking walks together. Sad. And just tonight I was at dinner and found myself w/ tears running down my face because a song that was playing in the restaurant was one that “the band” used to play when my brother and I would drive down to the beach to watch them play. Now he’s dead, in his 40′s, of cancer. Life is short. Don’t blink.

Dude, I am constantly saying to M., “Can we please get out of this retirement hell and move to Toronto and live in the city in a flat above a coffee shop on Queen!?!?“. Well, Sam at Daily Dose of Imagery took a photo of JUST such a place! Do check it out.

As I said in a recent post, I’ve been drawing a lot lately, and really enjoying it. Being a techie, of course I integrate technology w/ art. I draw in my moleskine sketch book and then I scan or take pix of my sketches and then send them to flickr and also I poste them on a new Art Blog I created. I go online and look at other people’s drawings for inspiration, and participate in art message boards. I recently ordered and recieved a USB Drawing Tablet (a Wacom Graphire 6×8) and downloaded a fantastic free program called ArtRage2 (which is only $20 for the full version). Using that w/ the wacom tablet is AWESOME. And then today I had yet another idea. Install ArtRage2 on my teeny tiny laptop (Fujitsu P1510) because it’s a TABLET LAPTOP so it would be like virtual painting!! Anyway, I am having so much fun w/ this.

EDITED TO ADD: Oh, and if you LOVE art and tech and have more money than I do, CHECK THIS OUT:

From one of M.’s favorite blogs:
Dying in the Iraq war IS a “waste“. I’m sorry, it is. It’s sick. These people should be home, with their families, working, loving, creating art, laughing. It’s a waste. It makes me sad.
whatever.
M0m had a second skin cancer surgery today. Minor, went well. But still I think you stress even when you don’t realize you are stressing. Last time she bled a lot, this time not, but I am SO tired tonight. (Why don’t I have a “dear diary” category?)

A little something about you, the author. Nothing lengthy, just an overview.
