Habitat for Humanity

Sunday, September 4th, 2005

Something I hadn’t thought about before until Harry Connick Jr. mentioned it tonight on tv. After the Red Cross is done with immediate Hurricane Relief, Habitat For Humanity will help rebuild homes for people:

Consider donating to them, too. And don’t forget the animals. :)

Donate to Red Cross or not?

Saturday, September 3rd, 2005

Interesting article that makes you reconsider whether the Red Cross is the right charity to send donations for the victims of hurricane Katrina.

(This is just a thought, I’m not for or against it. Just curious about what they are saying.)

Katrina and the levees

Saturday, September 3rd, 2005

I know everybody’s talking about Hurricane Katrina to death, so I’m going to only talk about what really sticks in my mind.

I wish M. would update his blog. It drives me nuts, no design, no updating. :) But he sees interesting stuff online and doesn’t email me the links, but if he just copy/pasted the links into a blog entry with NO accompanying commentary, it would still be interesting. He says that off the sidbar of dailykos.com yesterday was a blog of a guy who said something to the effect of ‘I have a whole stack of work orders here [to upgrade the levees in New Orleans] that I couldn’t start because Bush pulled the funding’.

If you know the blog I’m talking about, pls send me the link cuz I’d like to read it.
