This makes me just want to PUKE: “by May 30th Office Depot will only be carrying computer products that have been certified by Microsoft and carry the ‘Designed for Windows XP’ logo. This may be an initial glimpse at how Microsoft could introduce Digital Restrictions Management by ensuring all retail hardware and software products are approved by Redmond.” ( … link from Slashdot, heard story from TechTV but couldn’t find a link on their site.)
* Where does all the spam come from? (once there, click link to get pdf file)
* Cool, a 350 megapixel camera

Ok. I about had a techgasm at Best Buy today. There’s yet ANOTHER new Sony Clie out and I HAVE TO HAVE IT! It’s obscenely expensive though.
It’s the NZ90. It has a built-in camera like mine does, but this camera is 2 megapixels and has a flash! What can I sell on ebay, what can I sell……
Went to a Linux Users Group meeting today. These meetings are always very interesting. There was some discussion today about how the name was officially changed to include the words “GNU Linux Users Group” because they are trying to get a 501c3 classification for non-profits (tax thingy). This would enable them to be eligible for funding for pilot programs. How fun it’d be if our group could start spearheading programs to get kids into linux or schools interested in linux, etc.
We were late for the meeting (but it started late thank goodness) because we woke up and found what looked like sesame seeds all over our bedsheets. Right away I knew. Our cat has a tapeworm and egg sacks are creeping out of her anus and onto everything when she sleep. It’s DISGUSTING. So we went STRAIGHT to the vet to start treatment. YUCK!!!!!!!!!!! This cat, Crystal,
LIVES in our room (literally) because when we adopted her and tried to let her lose in the house, she beat the shit out of my existing (16 year old) cat Sasha
, and ever since then we’ve been afraid to let her out again. We’re supposed to be working on a socialization process but we never have time and I know it’s not fair, but it’s a long story.
I’m really tired today. I don’t do well on 8 hours sleep. I do well on 4 or 5 hours of sleep, maybe 6. I also do well on 10 hours sleep. But roughly 8 hours of sleep leaves me headachy and tired. But I took a nap and now I’m good.
Oh, this is pretty cool. Problem is it supposedly only works on “blogger” blogs. It’s AudBlog. You call a number (say, from your cell phone on the road), record a message, and it is posted in your blog as an MP3! (thanks Mikeintosh) This has to be one of the coolest things I’ve heard of in a while. [I still maintain that Spamex.com is the A#1 single-most useful thing I've ever found on the web.] I hope AudBlog supports Moveable Type soon, I think I’d use it!
The feet on my laptop have broken off. Whoppee. I can drop it off at Gateway for an uncertain “few days” while they get around to working on it, but I can’t live without it for a few days, no way. In the meantime, I’m using a very hardened (but softens when warm) Balance Outdoor Bar (like a Power Bar) as a riser for my laptop so that it can breathe.
I’m hoping to take a trip to Home Depot tonight to search for feet alternatives. Got any ideas? I think for now I’ll get some rubber chair feet, and I’m looking into an aluminum laptop holder that acts as a riser and a heat sink at the same time. I’ll post links later.
UPDATE: This thing looks cool. It’s an aluminum laptop cooler: a laptop wedge w/ a built-in fan.
UPDATE: I think I might get this thing from IGO.com
I want this.
I want this.
I want this.
I want this.

It comes in other colors which is good ‘cuz the “chameleon” color is an extra $701 !!!! (yes, just for the paint job!) Whaaaaaaaa!
So…. SlashDot is now calling ANONYMOUS COWARDS “ANONYMOUS READERS” instead? What’s that about? Did some crystal-spined wimpy got offended by being called “anonymous coward”? Did SlashDot’s lawyers advise them to change it for fear of being sued? I can’t find an explanation of the change. (like anybody cares, I have no life)
I’m a god-damned addict. I can’t stop blogging. I can’t stop reading blogs and looking for new blogs to read. I can’t stop reading technology books and trying to learn new things. I’m even haunted:
