Darth Vader Shops At Target

Saturday, May 21st, 2005

I saw Darth Vader shopping at Target tonight! Not doing an appearance, just, walking in, you could hear him breathing and all, walked to the toy section, and perused the Star Wars memorabilia. Luckily, I had my camera phone and little pink camera!

Convert asf to mov, first dxg video

Sunday, May 1st, 2005

Thanks to M for helping me figure this out:

I’ve been trying to figure out how to go from .asf files to .mov.

My new pink camera saves files as .asf, but vimeo.com requires .mov.

M found that the free version of STOIK Video Converter 2.1 can go from .asf to .avi, and then I can use Quicktime Pro (which I already paid for) to go from .avi to .mov.

Works great.

This is the first video I shot w/ the new pink camera, and this is also a file I did the above steps with:

Indian Food and digicams

Saturday, April 16th, 2005

Last night we went for indian food for dinner, and then we went to Circuit City, then Best Buy, and then CompUSA.

It seems Circuit City has much cooler stuff than any of them, at least more than CompUSA, at least in the camera department. I really loved this:

The Cyber-shot

I’m such a bad girl

Friday, April 15th, 2005

I caved.

I had to have __it__. I could only find one place online that had it in pink, and since last night, blue and green sold out, and only pink was left. So I jumped on it.

I’m such a SUCKER for cameras. I just really wanted a “mini DV” that saved to a flash card. I have a “real” camcorder which is small for what it is, but it’s still bulky and saves to tape so then I have to move over to M’s Mac and boot it up and “capture” the video (sit and wait while it plays the whole tape).

Believe me, if I ever want quality video, I’ll use my sony HC-20, it’s a wonderful camcorder.

But, for fun, for around town, for from-the-hip shots of wierd old people in the mall, (reminescent of pencam photos), this will be great.

Pink’s the color I wanted, so I’m happy that pink was still available.

Well, this weekend we’re going to have an ebay-fest, put a bunch of stuff up on ebay and make a few bucks (to kinda offset the guilt). ;)

UPDATE: It won’t arrive until a week from Monday.

That pink camera

Regarding this entry, thanks to my friends on the tinycams board, I found out what this camera is.

It’s a DXG-305v. Here are some links:

What is that pink cam?

Thursday, March 24th, 2005

I saw a lady using this camera at an event this past weekend, but I never got a chance to ask her what it was. Does anyone know what kind of camera this is?
